Between November 23 and November 28, 2023, these soldiers—whose identities remain protected—weren’t just focused on military duties. According to prosecutors, they were busy arranging a £10,000 cannabis deal, moving large quantities of the drug in what seems to have been a carefully coordinated scheme.
One of the soldiers was caught with nearly a kilogram of cannabis, while the other had a smaller—but still incriminating—33.47 grams. Their messages revealed a deeper involvement, showing plans to offload a whopping 2.3 kilograms of cannabis for £8,750.
From Combat Gear to Counterfeits
But it didn’t stop there. As if a military-backed drug operation wasn’t enough, one of the defendants also had a counterfeit Rolex scheme in motion. Police discovered seven fake receipts for a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41MM Jubilee watch—evidence that he was likely trying to pass off a fake luxury timepiece as the real deal.
This added an entirely new layer to the case. Not only were these soldiers accused of dealing illegal substances, but one of them was also dabbling in fraudulent luxury goods, creating the kind of subplot you’d expect in a high-budget crime film.
The Arrest & Fallout
Their luck ran out when law enforcement caught wind of the operation. Both soldiers were arrested and charged with drug offenses, with the added fraud charge tacked onto one of them. The case made its way to Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where both pleaded guilty.
